In Claude, with CMS Chat connected

Change the opening hours to Mon–Fri 8–18 and mention it on the contact page.
Found it. I’ll set Opening hours to “Mon–Fri 8–18” and update the line on the contact page. Apply?
Yes.
Done. Recorded in your change log · Undo available.

Same guardrails as the Copilot

Safe zones it may edit, review requests for risky edits, hands off system files.

Preview, confirm, undo

Database changes are previewed, applied only after your yes, and undone with one click. Risky code edits go to your agency for review.

Your login, your sites

You sign in with your CMS Chat account and pick the site. Revoke any time.

Let the AI you already use keep your site current

Once connected, your assistant can read your site, propose the change, and apply it after your yes, right in the conversation.

The old way

  • Send the wording change to your agency by mail or WhatsApp
  • Wait for a developer slot, then check whether it landed
  • No record of what changed when, and no easy way back

With CMS Chat connected

  • Ask in plain words; the assistant finds the exact text or record
  • See the change before it is applied and confirm with one word
  • Every database change logged under your name, one click to undo

What you can say

Talk to it like your editor, not a CMS

Skip the admin panel. Describe the change and the rest comes together.

Fix wording

“Change the headline on the Services page to “Repairs done the same day”.”

Update a price

“Set the price of the “Studio Desk Oak” to 1,290 EUR. Show me first.”

Add an entry

“Add a new product “Studio Desk Walnut”, delivery in 3 weeks, from 1,390 EUR.”

Translate

“Which products are missing an English description? Draft the first three for me.”

Check what changed

“What did we change on the site this week, and by whom?”

Undo

“Undo the last change you made.”

  1. 1

    Connect cmschat

Open your assistant’s connector settings, add the cmschat URL, and connect it. Takes a minute.

  2. 2

Sign in and pick a site

Log in with your cmschat account and choose which site the assistant may work on. You approve the permission before anything connects.

  3. 3

    Ask in your own words

Describe the change. The assistant reads the site map, finds the right text or record, and shows you what it will change.

  4. 4

    Confirm

Database changes are previewed and applied only after you say yes. Risky edits become a review request for your agency.

  5. 5

    It is logged and undoable

Every database change lands in your change log under your name. One click undoes it, in cmschat or by asking the assistant. Code edits land on a review branch for your agency.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be technical to use this?
No. If you can describe the change in a sentence, you can use it. There is nothing to configure beyond connecting once.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. Connecting an assistant is included in every cmschat plan. Your assistant’s own subscription (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) is separate.
Can I connect cmschat to my own AI agent?
Yes. cmschat is a standard MCP server with OAuth 2.1. Any agent that supports remote MCP servers can connect with the server URL.
Can I still edit in cmschat the normal way?
Yes. This is another door, not a replacement. The workbench, the change log and your agency’s review flow work exactly the same.
Can the AI break my site?
It gets the same guarded tools as the built-in Copilot: safe zones it may edit directly, risky areas that turn into a review request for your agency, and system files it can never touch.
Does the AI decide what goes live?
No. Database changes are applied only after you confirm in the chat. Code changes land on a review branch, and your agency keeps the final say on anything risky.
Is my site data shared with OpenAI or Anthropic?
The assistant sees what it needs to answer your request: the site map, the records or files you ask about, and the result of each change. Credentials, tokens and your database keys never leave cmschat.
Does this work for an agency with several clients?
Yes. When you connect, you pick which site the assistant may work on, or all the sites you can access. Each client’s users connect with their own login and see only their sites.
How do I disconnect?
Remove the connector in your assistant, or revoke it under Connect AI in cmschat. Both take effect immediately.
